If the NCAA tournament is expanded that much, there may be an unintentional consequence affecting regular season revenues. I would expect that I would lose a significant amount of interest in the season and that is probably true of many fans. So some of the gain in post season revenue will likely be at the expense of regular season revenue, and the schools that do not regularly make the tournament could find their bottom line significantly less favorable. If regular season TV ratings fall, this could eventually impact the non-tournament teams hard.
