I disagree -- based on other recently-released statistics on consumer retail spending, there's strong evidence that Walmart is benefiting from our economic decline, in that there is an upward trend in Americans being forced to purchase bargain-priced items. I think if you were to review where the uptick in sales were for Walmart, you'd see that their higher end items -- the few of them they have -- remained stagnant, while the lower cost purchases shot up. So despite their continued dominance and commitment to outsourcing jobs to China, they're still winning while we, the average American, continue to lose.
