Inside Information and the Politics of Stadium Subsidies - Gwinnett, Georgia

J.C. Bradbury has four important posts regarding the building of a new minor league stadium, with public money, in Gwinnett County, Ga.   Post #1: a debate to spend an additional $19 million of taxpayer dollars without the input of the public.  Post #2:  a little more on this "debate."

Most importantly, posts #3 and #4:  the Gwinnett County commissioner, a man who voted for the additional $19 million of taxpayer dollars, owns the land adjacent to where the stadium will be built.  Because owners of land around stadiums stand to benefit from increased traffic, this is surely a conflict of interest.  This certainly bears watching closely.
