It’s not just that Smith Center, Kan., scored a national-record 72 points in the first quarter of its football game Tuesday against Plainville.
What’s perhaps more surprising is that after all of that scoring, there was still time left in the quarter.
And they have been dominant all season:
•Smith Center, which rarely throws the ball, is averaging 71 points a game, and has outscored its opponents this season 640-0. The team hasn’t been scored on since winning the 2A-1A state championship last season 56-26.
That averages to 71.1 to 0.

I wonder how they did this year. That type of high school football play is awesome. When I was in high school we averaged around 60 a game. Our defense didnt shut people out every game though.
