Theory, Meet The Evidence

In this past post, I surmised that giving student evaluations may lead to profs making things easier for students in order to get better evaluations - perhaps at the expense of lifelong learning.  Here and here are some pieces of evidence that teachers that who give easier requirements also get better evaluations - up to a point.  This evidence originated in a blog post that has been turned into a published paper.

Now, how could one go about measuring life-long learning and the effect of student evaluations on it.
